More Nozawa onsen

It's been a spell since I've posted. Just busy as all get out at school. So much going on that I come home whipped and ready to spend time playing with Indy and unwinding with Jodi. A side note...Indy became the proud owner of a fire belly newt yesterday. He named his newt Four. Why? Because he's a funny little shit. Today after school we had fun drawing Four and his little aquarium. Indy is starting to get more representational with his drawing skills. It is a trip to see. He was really concentrating as he was drawing the plants, rocks, water and Four tonight. Here is another installment of photos from our Christmas travels.

Downtown Nozawa onsen. Only about 4,000 people live there. It was brilliant getting out into the mountains away from the congested streets and neighborhoods of Numazu.

This is a photo of one of the 13 onsen. You can smell them before you spot them on the street because of the sulphurous order. We loved soaking in them. And loved the experience of taking part in the time honored ritual and tradition of bathing in thermal waters.

I like the picture of Indy in the snow cave. It reminds me of the great snow caves we built when Chris was little...and not so little!
