Operation SGT

Jodi and I are in top gear taking care of all the details required to say goodbye to Tegucigalpa (operation sgt). Visas, real estate purchases, selling our Trooper, shipping goods to Japan, closing accounts, selling & donating our cargo, finishing a school year and making time to give Indy adequate attention. It is stressful. Very stressful. Jodi reads to relax. I've been drawing & listening to music when the energy to do so is available.

The overwhelming feeling about leaving is happiness. We have experienced emotional highs and lows living here. And everything in between. Generally life has been favorable for us here. Very favorable, and we feel fortunate to have had such luck. Tegucigalpa is a rough city. Constant security issues wears on us. I think the locals are conditioned to it. They express anxiety, yet seemed resigned that it is a fact of life that will not change. It's sad.

The leadership of this country line their bank accounts and seem satisfied to barricade themselves behind 12 foot walls topped with razor wire and high voltage electric wires with their plasma TV's, BMW's and swimming pools. Rather than do their job and work to develop programs and infrastructure that would bring the majority of the populace out of poverty, and desperate living conditions that provoke the crime here.
