Sports day was a spectacle. 9:00 - 2:00 this past Sunday. This is a tradition in Japan honored in both public and private schools. The idea is to bring families together at the school to watch their children, grandchildren, cousins and whomever else participate in field day like activities. This included a family dance which was a near mob scene of 3 and 4 years old trampling each other. The bean bag toss was the highlight for Indigo. He also log rolled and sprinted across the field in front of the entire audience for a relay event. We were very proud! Indy was wasted after 5 hours in the sun. So were we.
