National Sports Day Holiday

Home from school on a Monday. A group of elementary age kids marched by with whistles not long ago. They all had matching costumes and were carrying two small shrines...the festivities must be related to National Sports Day.

The morning began with Indy invading our bed around 7. Jo and I were not ready to roust ourselves yet. As a result Indy lolled about singing and talking in Spanish and English virtually non-stop for the next hour.

Now we are up and about together listening, and singing with a CD the school supplied us that has the songs sung in the kindergarten...I was surprised to see 40 tracks when the disc opened in iTunes. It has all the classics...the ABC's, itsy-bitsy spider, the wheels on the bus, Old MacDonald, etc...plus new ones we have not heard. We have not heard any Japanese songs...yet.
