From our house on bike you can reach downtown in about 15 minutes. Along this river named Kano is a nice biking path that leads to the port in one direction. In the other direction I do not know yet where it goes. Downtown is neat and tidy, no trash. The buildings are rather non-descript. There is plenty of room for bikes on the sidewalks. But I like riding in the street. Fewer obstacles that way.
